Margate NJ Family Beach Photography captured by Karrie Davis Photography. The Mazur Family really wanted to capture a pier in the background, Margate, New Jersey was my first choice. The Margate fishing pier jets out into the ocean and allows for a perfect background for the classic beach family portrait. The weather was perfect and while a tad windy, the ocean breeze felt like a wonderful fan with a beautiful salty smell that is home to many of us who grew up at the shore. I always try and get family group shots first, then move into individual shots, and lastly, water shots. Who doesn’t love putting their feet into the ocean???

“Cousins are the perfect Best Friends”

This cousin session in Ocean City, NJ was a fun filled, sand getting in everywhere, water where their Moms had hope there was none, crazy fueled, beautiful mess. These kiddies had lots of energy and brought the love in this session. Their grandparents wanted a session with their grandkids, and bought each child a beautiful monogrammed shirt with their initials. We enjoyed sand castle making, running along the water, running in the water, exploring the lifeguard stand, and me trying to capture it all with my camera. But they delivered in funny smiles and tight hugs for each other. So much fun and so lucky to be able to capture their family bonds.

the BEST family beach photography in Cape May NJ featured the “S” family along the most serene and lush landscape of Cape May, NJ. Beyond the amazing location with a breathtaking sunset, this family did not disappoint. They are a stunning family and the beauty that I captured does not compare to the kindness and love they have for each other. These children were loving and kind to each other. I have seen lots of families, but nothing compares to these siblings. Mind you, I have four kids, so I can truly understand what patience and bribes a photographer endures to get kids to stand close to each other and seem loving. But these kids were the real deal. It was so special to be able to capture this family and I look forward to doing it year after year!

I hope to capture this light, this sunset, this kindness, this love, and this family bond in every beach session I do from now on.

They were having fun and I could tell that they truly love laughing and enjoy each other. The Egg Harbor Township Nature Reserve is such an ideal setting. They feature long paths to canvas and discover. The huge man made lake is fun to explore. And the light is always stunning. It is a special place to capture families and always good for a beautiful sunset. The sunset over the water allows the reflection of the sun to be in such a gorgeous way.

What to wear for your senior session?

What to wear for your senior session? Sessions are a big deal down in the South. So much so that some photographers solely do only senior portraits. Up in the Northeast, the trend is for a Senior Portrait to be the classic studio cap and gown. Yawn. Your senior year is such a special time in your life. You are at a point in your life where everything is fair game and life is filled with so many choices! Where to go for college? What major do you want to focus on? Should you travel abroad this summer? There are so many freedoms and opportunities awaiting you.

Capturing you at this joyous time in your life will be life treasures for many! Especially those moms and dads out there who have poured their whole selves into raising you! Once the decision is made to do your session, the next thing in your mind in what to wear???

I like to give up to three outfit choices. A sport that you want to remember or that has been such an intreval part in your life is worth capturing. But what to pick next??

For girls, a dress is a go to pick. I love the site, Rent the Runway. It has great choices at a fraction of the cost of the dress! Pair it with a fringe boot if you want an urban feel or sandals if you are heading to the beach.

Another choice for ladies would be jeans with a dressy top. You can be more casual in your dress but don’t forget about accessories to add your personal touches. For the boys, don’t pick now as the time for sweats. Push yourself to look at the jeans with a button down shirt and vest as a dressy option without needing a suit! KEY ALERT: The key to outfit choices is finding something you love yourself in. If you feel good, then your personality will shine through on your images.
